Deputies Bust Large Marijuana Grow Operation in Bloomingburg …

BLOOMINGBURG – According to authorities, acting on information developed by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Gang and Narcotics Intelligence Unit, deputies executed a search warrant last  Wednesday morning at 3 Roe Road in Bloomingburg.

At the location, deputies found a sophisticated indoor growing operation complete with special lights and a ventilation system.

Approximately 396 marijuana plants weighing in excess of 200 pounds were seized. The marijuana has a street value of approximately $800,000., said authorities.

Detectives arrested Isaac Lugo, 30, of Goshen. Authorities said Lugo is currently on probation for a previous arrest in 2016 related to a marijuana growing operation in the Town of Minisink.

He was charged with Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the First Degree, a Felony, and Unlawfully Growing Cannabis, a Misdemeanor.

Lugo was arraigned before Mamakating Town Judge Joel Welsh and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail.

He is due back in court at a later date.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by U.S. Homeland Security Investigations and the Town of Warwick Police Department. The search warrant was prepared by Chief Assistant District Attorney Meagan Galligan.
