CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WDTV) — The House of Delegates will take up a medical marijuana bill passed by the State Senate earlier this week.

It’s reported that members of the house made a procedural move to skip the committee process and send Senate Bill 386 straight to the floor.

The original plan was for the bill to go to a pair of house committees, but a delegate made the motion to put the bill on the House floor.
The House approved the motion in a 54 to 40 vote, following some debate.

The bill was then read a first time. It’s on the agenda for a second reading, Friday.
