On Thursday, the House of Delegates accepted a technical amendment from the Senate.

Under Senate Bill 386, the Bureau of Public Health is in charge of regulating marijuana growers, processors and dispensaries.

Patients who are terminally ill or have severe or chronic intractable pain, cancer, seizures, post-traumatic stress disorder, AIDS and some other diseases will be allowed to use extracts, tinctures, and other preparations of marijuana, but not marijuana in flower or leaf form.

If Governor Justice signs the bill, the state will be the 29th to adopt an effective medical marijuana law.
