A New York City man was arrested in Pawling Tuesday after he was found to be in possession of a firearm, a large quantity of marijuana and stolen license plates.

Aaron Cintron, 28, was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, third-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a felony, and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor, according to a state police press release.

At around 9 p.m. Tuesday, Cintron was encountered by troopers while parked at a rest area, and a subsequent investigation led to his arrest.

He was taken into custody without incident.

Cintron was arraigned in Town of Pawling Court, according to the release, and remanded to Dutchess County Jail on $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
