Two Mitchell residents face felony charges after allegedly distributing marijuana in a drug-free zone.

Michael Wilson, 31, and Larissa Hopkins, 22, were recently indicted on multiple charges related to the possession and distribution of marijuana in Mitchell.

On Feb. 9, 10 and 21, Wilson and Hopkins allegedly distributed and possessed marijuana in a drug-free zone, court documents state. Both live on South Wisconsin Street, just south of Dry Run Creek Park, a drug-free zone.

Wilson is charged with two counts of distribution of 1 ounce or less of marijuana in a drug-free zone, a Class 4 felony, punishable upon conviction by up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine; two counts of distribution of 1 ounce or less of marijuana, a Class 6 felony, punishable upon conviction by up to two years in prison and a $4,000 fine; and two counts of possession of 2 ounces of marijuana or less, a Class 1 misdemeanor, punishable upon conviction by up to one year in jail and a $500 fine.

Hopkins is charged with one count each of the same charges. Bond was set at $2,500, and Hopkins is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
